Holding a responsible position in the society is a daunting task. A person, who plays a pivotal role in the society, needs the help of his fellowmen to fulfill the demands of office. Hence help is desired, from all the sections of the population that will in turn help needy. Writing a charity appeal letter can be a first step in asking for help and is a very genuine and straight but very polite way of asking for charity.
Here is a charity appeal letter sample:
To
Mr. Kelvin Clark,
General Secretary,
Goodwin’s Inc.
Burlington, Vermont
12th May, 2010
Dear Mr. Clark,
As the mayor of the town I would like to make a sincere appeal to you for the charity fund. This fund is made to build an Old Age Home for the senior citizens of our town. As nearly every town has at least one Old Age Home except ours, I have undertaken the project to build one in our town also. After this, I intend to start an orphanage. As such an ambitious project is not possible without the help of all the town people, so I make a genuine request to you to contribute towards this task of helping the ones in need.
There will be a meeting on 15th of this month where all the members of the council will discuss about the old age home project and I will present the report about it. I am looking for a good monetary help from you and hope that you will give a significant contribution in it. I want that being a part and the pillars of our society, we should not neglect these old people because at this point of time they need our care and affection. Being a prominent figure of the town I kindly request you to come forward to help in making this project live.
Hope to get your earliest reply.
Thank You,
With regards,
Jessica Simpson
